WALLA WALLA — Two corrections officers at the Washington State Penitentiary were assaulted by a prisoner Thursday.

The assaults occurred about 11 a.m. while a search of the prisoner’s cell, spoke Joni Aiyeku, prison spokeswoman. Staff responded to the incident and secured the zone within a minute.

Both officers were treated and released after being taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. One is expected to return to work today. The prisoner involved, Brandon T. Burnette, year unavailable, was not injured and is being held in segregation today.

The assault occurred in Unit D, one of 4 new close-custody facilities in the prison’s new West Complex area. The unit, which at present holds 140 prisoners, was placed on lockdown which is expected to continue thru today. All another areas of the prison remained on normal status.

Aiyeku spoke officials believe the assault was an isolated incident. However an analysis by officers with the Department of Corrections and Walla Walla Police Department is continuing.

WOBURN, Mass. — The portion bro of comedian Dane Cook has pleaded not guilty to embezzling millions from the comedian and was ordered held on $3 million bail.

Darryl McCauley was arraigned Wednesday at Woburn District Court on charges including forgery and larceny. Prosecutors alleged this McCauley, 43, stole the money from Cook while being paid $12,500 a month to act as business manager for Great Dane Enterprises, Inc.

Judge Joseph Jennings ordered McCauley to document the source of any funds used to meet his bail.

Cook’s attorney, Joseph Zwicker, described Cook as “very distraught” about the situation. McCauley’s attorney, Robert Goldstein, spoke his client is innocent.

“Mr. McCauley denies taking money from his bro without his consent,” he said. “He’s finished to confront those allegations.”

Prosecutors accused McCauley of transferring funds from Cook’s business accounts to his personal accounts amidst July 2007 and December 2008. In one instance, McCauley forged a $3 million check written from Cook’s detail to himself, investigators said.

McCauley allegedly used the money to buy 4 cars, and to take a seven-day trip across the country, while which he rented various cars. Prosecutors speak investigators raided a Maine home McCauley owned and discovered $800,000 in cash in a safe.

Assistant Attorney General Rick Grundy additionally spoke McCauley talked about opening a restaurant in Ireland. Grundy spoke investigators have yet to discover lot of the allegedly stolen money.

… about the days when they prosecuted the 4 US Marshals and tried to persecute Herb Patterson and another BOP staff after a assured airlift.

I am starting to look to the future for my career with the department. I will shortly have my year in as a COI. I am on the register for PPA and CCA and will take on the register for SGT as soonish as my year is up. I have 60 college credit hours which gives me 2 additional years work experience.
Anyway I could like to know from folks in MO DOC which could be the finest direction to move as far as advancements, as I have nearly 19yrs till I can retire. I passion being a COI but the hours are not compatibble with the family right now. I work 3-11 and whether I advance above thru the SGT route I can take put on any shift.
Just looking for few pros and cons (no pun intended lol) to the PPA and CCA route.

Also what is the finest way to discover job opportunities, as few have been filled and I never knew they were even availible. One more inquire I have the CCA written experiment coming above anyone know what could be grand to brush above on for it? :question:

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities speak an inmate who was wrongly released is spine in jail in west Florida.

The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office says this an anonymous person, claiming to be a family member of Lawrence Campanello, called authorities to inquire why he was released Wednesday.

Chicago Police nab ‘America’s Most Wanted’ fugitive

Less than 2 hours after she was featured on the television show “America’s Most Wanted” on Saturday, Chicago Police arrested a convicted killer who escaped from an Indiana prison in August.

Foster and Rogers Park police district tactical officers arrested Sarah Jo Pender without incident Saturday in the 2200 block of West Farwell Avenue, according to a Chicago Police release.

Pender, 29, of Indiana, was featured on the television show “America’s Most Wanted,” which listed her as one of their “Top 10 Fugitives,” police said.

Pender and her boyfriend, Richard Hull, were convicted in 2002 of shooting their 2 roommates with a shotgun and dumping their bodies in an Indianapolis dumpster in 2000, according to “America’s Most Wanted” Web site, which spoke Pender convinced Hull to shoot the roommates.

She escaped from the Rockville Correctional Center, a medium-security facility in Indiana, on Aug. 4 with the aid of correctional officer at the prison and an ex-inmate friend. The Indiana Department of Corrections says Officer Scott A. Spitler, a five-year veteran of the prison, drove outside of the prison with Pender hiding in the spine of his IDOC van, the show’s Web site said.

After they took thru the prison gates, police speak ex-inmate Jamie Long, Pender’s close friend, picked Pender above from Spitler’s van and helped her full her escape.

Army national guard in 2000,been to iraq twice,just took spine in june after a year doing fuel missions,did 3 years corrections in tn and 3 years of nuclear defense in tn.now i’m in texas starting by with my wife and finest pal in huntsville,texas.

In another thread someone brought above going to the training midpoint after the shift and having a beer. I took to thinking about this and thought I’d put it outside to attempt to look how lot of institutions have training centers with bars.

USP Lompoc, where I started had a bar full with built in taps for kegs. It had a full kitchen and a huge BBQ pit outside for Tri Tip cooking. Anyone else have a nicely put above training center?
